Possible challenges with swapping HID headlights to standard

Featured Replies

My lensen have become cloudy and the headlights suffer from poor light output. I'm thinking about replacing them with standard halogen headlight housings. Has anyone tried this? Is it fairly easy to do?

Just remove HID ballasts and connections and plug halogen lamps into the oem wiring?

Unless you have xenons as standard.  You can refurbish fabia headlights.  I've done the odd one.  ;)

Ok, so then i have to extend the cables going to ballasts after removal? I do have xenon as standard. I have also refurbished the glass of the headlight unit, but it didn't improve light output significantly. It seems like the lenses of the xenon "chamber" itself is cloudy (which i think i weird, shouldnt these be made of glass??). I have red about polishing these up, but i still havent found a proper guide for opening this unit, so I'm thinking of swapping the whole unit for a halogen one instead.
