2014 Polo FL clues for the new Fabia III?

Featured Replies

Spotted this whatcar article regard a Polo facelift launch later this month; noted the 1ltr 3 pot motors from the Up family are making an appearance, as is a touch screen infomat system. Further they indicate the 1.2TSI will be fully replacing the ageing 1.4mpi but only as a stopgap until a 1.0TSI becomes available later in the year. There will also be a 1.4 ACT with cylinder deactivation producing 148hp

So it would seem likely the new Fabia will mainly use 1ltr engines in petrol format, as it's unlikely to appear before the 1.2 is dropped in the Polo but will it get the 1.4 ACT :wonder:

The SEAT Ibiza has the 1.4 TSI FR Edition ACT now with 140 PS, but only with a manual box.

Lets hope the Fabia MK2 Replacement has choice of petrol, diesel and hybrid,

so like the soon coming small Audi's. Petrol Engine and Electric Motors.

Have they yet said it will be called a Mk3 Fabia. ?

i keep seeing it as the Fabia MK 2 Replacement.

Only surmising Fabia III on my part but who knows they may resurrect a name from the past or come up with something new for the impending replacement.

Glad we have a fairly new Fabia II, as I can imagine the new model will get an expanded waist line; find the current cars narrowness a bonus on back lanes and for parking, compared with our Octy III which really is far to wide for such things and hopless in a 1960/70's multi story :giggle:

  • 2 months later...

They replacing the 1.6tdi with a 1.4 as well

Don't hold your breath as far as the 1.4 act engine is concerned. The pre launch literature from Skoda for the Octavia mk3 promised that the 1.4 ACT would be available from launch, two years after launch its still nowhere to be seen!
