Can't get the DPF light to go out!

Featured Replies

The DPF light came on yesterday on my 2010 CR VRS.  Read the book: run in S at 1500 - 2500 rpm for 15 mins in S4 or S5 and the light should go out.  It didn't!  I've driven 150 miles today at M-way speed in S and the light still hasn't gone out.  I use good quality fuel and drive 20 miles to work each day and then 20 miles back with about 15 miles of that drive on M-way/dual carraigeway and don't do too many short journeys, so I don't think its really a blocked DPF.

I think the beast has got a fault - any ideas????????????

Could be a failed exhaust pressure sensor. Common fault - I've had three in the last three Octy's.....

Maybe needs hooking up to vcds?

G450 pressure sensor... not sure they were common faults on the CR VRS but certainly were on the PD engines... id get a scan and start there

And soon before it gets beyond DPF recovery.

Seems like I'm probably blind and a bit stupid..........................

It wasn't the DPF light, it was the exhaust control light (engine shaped light).  Hooking up to VCDS tells me that it is the aux cooling pump which is fitted to the 170 engines.

Will replace it soonest and problem should be cured (if not, I'll be back!!!!!!!!!).
