Superb Elegance CR 170 4x4 DSG - Options?

Featured Replies

What is the autonomous / auxiliary heater?  I have not seen this option anywhere.  What does it do exactly and if anyone has a "code" or something I could mention to the dealer to assist in their understanding.

autonomous heater is the heater which runs on fuel when engine is off and you can turn the heater on/off via remote control or program it to turn on/off automatically. it heats the car in the morning and you can go right away without deicing windows. also you can turn this heater on while engine running and it helps to warm it quicker.

That sounds amazing but not sure it is a current option in the UK.

Well due to the very early arrival of second son in the early hours of Monday morning I decided to just make a call and pull the trigger on the decision.  Need car now!

Final spec that I paid the deposit on this afternoon is:

New Superb Estate 2.0 TDI CR 170 LAURIN + KLEMENT 4X4 5DR DSG
Metallic - Metal Grey
Brown L&K Leather
18" Sirius bi colour alloys (7.5J x 18" 225/40 R18 92Y)
Variable boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system
Electrically operated boot with retractable parcel shelf
Rear side airbags
Sunblind for rear side windows
Space saver spare wheel
Heated washer nozzles
Hill hold control
Keyless entry and start
Multi device interface
Piano black inserts

Only things I wasn't sure on were the electric boot and the sunblinds.  But a newborn premature baby and a 19 month old in the back will probably justify doubling the blinds up with the sunset glass.

Dealer said 15 weeks would be the worse case scenario but will try and see if they have any stock vehicles on order in the queue that they can change for my requirements.  I think he was probably just trying to make me feel better and I am expecting the worst.

If anybody spots anything obvious that I have missed or thinks that I may have made the wrong call speak now or forever hold your peace!

Cheers,

Raygun

Well first of all congratulations and hope all goes well!  So you went for the L&K in the end  .  Should look well in metal grey.  I did select the silver Sirius wheels as opposed to bi-colour as I think they really look well but that's just personal choice.  You don't have to add too much to an L&K as it has so much kit and spec looks good.  Hopefully you'll get it in less than 15 weeks.

Congratulation on the new arrival, hope mum and baby are doing well. What's his name?

Good call on the car too, you won't be disappointed.

Chris

Little fellas name is Lochlan. I'm a kiwi from an area equivalent to the lakes district back in NZ and the name means "warrior from the land of lakes across the sea". So the wife tells me.

Congrats to you all

Great name (and meaning)

Car is going to be awesome, enjoy :)

Cheers. Didn't see an option or silver vs bi-colour alloys. Is there a secret list of dealers options? Is the silver just much brighter?

Nice selection.... I went for the 170 DSG 4 x 4 Hatch with almost all the extras apart from kessy, sunroof and the wood trims on March 8th had an email from the dealer yesterday to say that there was still no confirmed build date, but we have estimated end of June,,,,

I have spoken to a nice lady called Kate in Skoda customer services a couple of times, she calls me every couple of weeks to keep me  updated... last conversation was it is around 15 weeks to get the build date and around 20 weeks for delivery... This is due to the high demand for Skoda,,,, it seems that once they give a build date it happens very quick, but that changes regular and could be quicker...

Can't wait for my new toy to arrive.... Lol

We do not get an option in the UK..... have a look on this website and look at the colour options !! and wheel options on the L & K :( choose the "3D configurator"

Talk about spoilt for choice....

I might need a short term lease vehicle to cover the gap. Anybody got any experience with like a three month lease type of arrangement?

You don't appear to have the option in the UK as Stuart pointed out.  Yes they are bit brighter but the bi-coloured are lovely too, as I said it was just personal choice.  Speaking of options I just had a look at the UK configurator and there is a difference on a number of options - you have to pay for KESSY, decorative inserts and TPM that are no cost options over here.  Then again you probably get ventilated seats and heated screen on the L&K as standard??

You are right on all counts! Does the L&K come with paddles on the steering wheel?

Good idea! Is it difficult to remove?

Nope, one screw and a little bit of force I believe was the key. Very simple anyway...

I thought they were an option as you would need the three spoke steering wheel but I could be wrong there.    Best to check that one out!

Think the paddles are only with the 3 spoke.... but this is not available on the L & K for some strange reason.. :(

Oh nuts.  I have paddles on the auto that I currently drive and whilst they are not necessary, they are a little fun.

Well got an email from the dealer yesterday and the car is at the port in Belgium awaiting shipment to Blightly! Huzzah!

Ordered 25/4.

Good news, not long to wait now :)

If you really want the paddles and it doesn't arrive with them, Shark Performance can retrofit the correct steering wheel and code in the paddles for you.

cheers, Steve

I'm keen on getting up to shark but I have ordered the extended warranty and not ute how clever it would be to get the remap. The steering wheel could be interesting though.
