MOT coming up on my '05 Fabia VRS, and recently a bus hit my car (and several others) whilst it was parked. I need to get a replacement driver's side mirror housing and the headlight bracket for the driver's side too, but can't find any at local scrapyards. I can only buy complete headlight and mirror from Skoda, both at around £100 a pop.

 

Does anyone know of any (preferably in Yorkshire/the North) that I could pick up in the next fortnight?

Try ebay, there are always people breaking or offering parts for sale. Also www.skospares.com

As an addendum: does anyone know if standard Fabia mk1 mirrors will fit my VRS? I don't mind going for an awkward look, my car is pure workhorse.

Standard ones will fit but you may lose the electric adjuster depending what you buy. The mk4 golf use same mirrors if you wanted to just change the casing. Not too sure if they mount on the door the same way though.

There is no "headlight bracket" - The fixings are part of the headlight unit so if they break, you need to replace the whole unit.  I have a pair of fabia headlights (just been refurbed).

ebay has a decent selection of both or the for sale section regularly has cars been broken for parts.
