Hi Guys,

 

Probably silly but I just want to put my mind at rest. The following is a quick video of my 2 week old 1.6 TDI Octavia MK3 engine at idle. It's been a while since I had a deisel engine and I now they are noisy. However I don't recognise the fast rattle/ticking noise coming from the rear of the engine bay. Is this perfectly normal? Thanks

My 1.6 TDI with 368 miles on the clock makes the same noises.

I'd never noticed the fast rattle before until you mentioed it (can't hear it in the cabin) until I opened the bonnet with it running to have a listen.

No idea what it is though.
