Just a quick query as to what sort of leather the seats are in a mk1 vRS SE - sat here in the back seat about to use a 'leather cleaner & Conditioner' and it states 'DO NOT use on 'Nubuck' or Alcantara'

Has just got me worrying as to what type of leather the seats actually are before I potentially ruin them?

I doubt it's nubuck and I know it's not Alcantara.

Their not either of those. Their both suade (cant spell) type materials. Alcantara is whats in Octy 2 vrs seats i think, i could be wrong on that one though hah but Fabia seats arent either of those.

In the meantime I have been taking the central 'air vent' trim out in the dashboard.

Found the reason one of the 'dials' wasn't opening the vents.

Now to try and put it all back together...

All a learning process I suppose.

I use auto glym leather stuff on my vRS SE seats. Good stuff too.

Nubuck is like timberland boot material. It's kind of like short fibre suede.

And obv alcantara is an expensive suede.

So you will be fine. I use Glyptone for mine.

Alcantara's an expensive type of plastic

It's suede - had it in my old Ibiza.

ALL Alcantara is plastic. It's made from polyester and polyurethane, PLASTIC

Alcantara, cheap or otherwise, has never come from, nor ever will come from any animal ever.

Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff and durable and looks and feels like suede, but it aint

Maybe it was because I had suede and alcantara was the cheap stuff?

I think I got confused!
