Started the car up and got an engine management light with the code 19538 I think it is. Basically egr, found a flying source pipe spilt so replace that and now the light has gone but got these 2 lights still and the oil light led is flashing. Any ideas??? I've checked the oil and it's fine

Its telling you it needs an oil service, does the red symbol go out when you release the handbrake?

 

If not either the brake pads need replacing or the brake fluid needs topping up.

Yeah light goes out after I release hand brake :/ just strange all the lights come up, only had a service at 125 k back in October

The red light is just telling you the handbrake is still on i that case,

 

Who serviced it? it looks like they did not reset the service interval when they serviced it.

Yeah its not the red light I mean, I mean the oil sign. Erm was done back in October after top end rebuild

Was the service indicator reset in October? Was it actually due a service in October?

Major service was done on the 14/7/12.

Next inspection at 130539

Top end rebuilt with new belt and oil etc

So not sure but going to get new oil and reset the service light

Is it on variable? If so the engine work has probably confused the oil quality sensor.

Fabia 1 has no sensor and no variable, this is simply a garage missing the service and oil reset off the list so no need for new oil, if you reset it now and make sure you use someone who knows how to reset the oil & service lights next time round, better yet do them yourself.

Cheers boss, yeah don't think the garage reset it properly. It's not been reset a d light gone cheers guys

Good point, forgot the fabia doesn't do variable.
