Pruning the number of pinned topics

Featured Replies

Wonder if I'm the only one starting to get irritated by the number of pinned topics here? Looking at the forum on a 1024 high screen, I can't even see one new/latest post without scrolling down. The browser itself and forum masthead etc take up the top third of the screen and the ten pinned topics consume the rest, Some of these pinned ones don't seem to have been updated for 2.5 years now and I wonder if they still all deserve to be pinned? Perhaps there could be a separate Yeti FAQ subforum?

It would be nice to be able to see say 2-3 of the latest threads showing up on this first screen just to give some reference point to start reading.

I'd actually agree this, as a general point for all sub-fora with pinned topics rather than just the Yeti forum. I mean, is there any point to a pinned topic on picture selection for the 2014 calendar for example?

Yes, it's a fair point. I've just put it forward for discussion on how best to reorganise with other staff members.

Doesn't bother me and I subscribe to the "If it's not broke don't fix it!" brigade. :giggle:

Personally I'd get rid of all of them and if any of them need pinning just put them in this thread and leave that as the only one:

Extremely Useful Yeti Topics (click here for the really useful Yeti topics)

I would just change the daft thread title above to something like "Click here for a list of useful topics" though.

Also in that thread there are a few that need removing now,
