Build Quality

Featured Replies

We, in Europe, receive vehicles which are built in the Czech Republic.

Is the build quality identical whereever manufactured.

The Yeti built in China is 60mm longer because they like their space. It does not sound much but I suppose, like all those emails, 2" does or can make a difference.

Is the Chinese one a longer chassis or is it just because they have a side hinged rear door with spare wheel mounted on it - which protrudes slightly and makes it slightly longer as a result?

I have no complaints with the Czech buid quality - ours is spot on.

Also many car manufactures use different materials for local markets to bit a particular price point. So in some markets you may find the soft feel aurfaces are replaced with hard plastic. And there may be cheaper seat fabrics and door cards - possibly less sound deadening. Maybe thinner or lower quality steel.

The Chinese one has a longer wheelbase and chassis with much more rear legroom and longer rear doors. They always have long wheelbase versions of the BMW 3 and 5 series on top of the 7 series LWB we also get. Same for Mercedes and Audi.
