Positive battery lead? help

Featured Replies

So another problem has occurred, the fan has somehow been cutting through my main battery lead to the starter motor.

What is the correct name for this cable so I can google some prices to replace this.

I've obviously just bodged it for now as it's still starting the car but I don't want this to run for to long with simply gaffe tape on it.

How could the fan cut through your main battery lead?

Pop to your local motor factors a lot can make them for you

When my clutch was done, they removed bits and bobs to get access to it. somehow, the lead wasn't allowed to sit right and so the fan had been grinding away at it. (this is the lead that sits just behind the fan casing.

I would have thought who did the job is liable for ill-fitting of the cable, and pay for it's replacement and fitting..??

As above id be in contact with the company who did the clutch. You've encountered a problem you didn't have before the box was removed.

Are you sure it's not the alternator cable?

It was a job done by my dad's mate's garage so it's kind of a no returns issue.

My Dad has got the replacement cable now anyway so not to worry.

Garage says "wear and tear issue"

Garage says "wear and tear issue"

Or blames owner for 'meddling'
