My vrs won't start

Featured Replies

Right guys my vrs won't start, it's an 04 plate and I think possibly starting motor, when I turn ignition on there is a little clicking sound about 4 or 5 clicks then when I try to turn it over there's nothing I have repaired the starting motor cable previously as this snapped but there is no sign of any broken cables this time however it will bump start the coil light started flashing and gave me a dtc of 16989 internal control module read only memory (EPROM) error I cleared that but still nothing anyone any ideas befor I replace starting motor on a whim thanks

First thing that comes to my mind is battery. Have you checked that?

When you bump started it was it running fine after that or back to square one once turned off?

Back to square one after it's a brand new battery I replaced it the other day the aa came out to the mrs as I was at work and they said possibly starter

It is probably the repair on the starter signal wire. They can break under the insulation and appear OK but are in fact broken or gradually breaking.

Good news and bad, it started and ten once turned off it wouldn't start again

You say you repaired a wire, is this the "load signal" wire? That has a tendency to snap.

Yes it was the load wire l repaired it and it snapped again so unit 18 soldered it when the starter was tested yesterday there was a live going into the starter
