1.8 TSI & DQ200 7-speed DSG.......

Featured Replies

Just been looking at the info for the 7-speed DSG box and isn't it a little too close for comfort putting it in with the 1.8 TSI in the Superb? I mean the engine has 250nm of torque which is exactly the same as the top torque limit for the gearbox.

You'd have thought they wouldn't have put the pair together...... Unless in reality the gearbox has been tested with a much higher limit with regard torque???

Cheers

Dave.

The 1.4 TSI Twincharger 180-185 ps with 250 Nm has had the DQ200 DSG since 2009

in the Seat Ibiza Cupra & 2010-11 in the Fabia vRS, Polo GTI & A1 185ps.

the 250 Nm is not the limit because some have Remaped Engines and run over 300 Nm. (over 210 bhp)

250 Nm is the Limit VW put for the engine it gets fitted to,

it is not the Maximum Torque it is capable of dealing with.

There are Failures in Mechatronics & Clutch Packs though,

but no more than with the small percentage in other DSGs.  Possibly Less.

It is a service free box.
