Scout - Replacing the front bumper

Featured Replies

7 or 8 months ago the Mrs damaged the bumper. Spoken to local body repair and they say they can fix it but it will never be perfect which will just get on my nerves.

I'm pretty much used to it now but do intend to get it fixed sometime.

Skoda have quoted me around £750 for a new bumper, plastic surround for the DRL, first plastic strip on the wheel arch and painting and fitting.

Is it worth having a go myself if anyone knows where I could get the bits more cheaply or is it not worth the hastle and let the dealer do it ?

Cheers !

I'm remember your original thread!

Speak to a better garage. A high quality repair should be invisible to the untrained eye.

Thanks all for the input. Ebay. I've been keeping an eye on eBay for months but not seen one decent bumper. They nearly all have some kind of damage.

Had enough of looking at it now though so Bickertons are going to give me a firm price when it goes in for its service in a couple of weeks.

Should be around £750 ish.
