16" Spider Issue

Featured Replies

It appears I have an air leak possibly through the rim ... is there any other way to sort this other than replacing the rim ?

If the rim isnt cracked and the tyre is okay (no nails) then it will either be a leaking valve or corroded rim

A corroded rim isnt the end of the world. You can grind off the corrosion and apply a sealing compound around the rim and it will be grand

My local tyre place usually charge a fiver or tenner to do this

They grind the rim around the tyre sealing edge so once the tyre is on you would never know

I've had it in to the tyre place here ... as I originally thought it was a puncture and they said they had sealed it etc. now 8 weeks later its doing exactly the same.

Id try another tyre place

Or stick the spare on and get the alloy shotblasted and powdercoated for £50-70 by an alloy wheel refurb place.

No more air leaks and nice new wheel
