I spilled just under 5 litres of engine oil in my boot and attempts to clean are proving more effort that it seems worth. I've stripped the carpet out and the oil has soaked into the chipboard liner. 

 

I think I'm better off just looking for a replacement in the scrappies. Which leads me on to my question.....

 

Are the boot carpets in the mk1 and mk 2 interchangeable. Plenty of Mk1s breaking  but not so many Mk2s.

No I don't think they are interchangeable.
