Squeeking wiper blades (any ideas)

Featured Replies

The wiper blades on my rapid sport (3mths old) are squeaking like a bas*ard !

It happens when they first start and then on the end of there stroke, and again and again and again !

Driving me bloody mad.

I've cleaned the blades and the screen to no avail.

Any ideas ?????

try wiping them with white vinigar (the blades)

try wiping them with white vinigar (the blades)

New one on me that mark. Ill try that tonight

please use WHITE vinigar not malt.  Also have a close check to see the edge isn't coming loose

All I can say is it worked on my ageing Honda civics blades

Did the White Vinegar work?   If not, try cleaning the screen with methylated spirit - it cleans any small rubber deposits off the glass (which causes the blades to jerk momentarily) and gives the blades a lubricated path.

I usually wipe the windscreens of my cars with neat screen wash then wipe over with a damp microfibre cloth. I also wipe the wiper rubbers with the screen wash. It seems to help get the muck off them.

If they judder and replacing or the above doesn't help then maybe the wiper arm itself needs tweeking. On my Mazda in the past I've twisted the arm slightly so the blade sits better on it, no more juddering.
