I miss my dreamcast too. Luckily all I have to do is pop up into the loft and find it. :D

Keep all your old computers and consoles. Thats what lofts are for.

I've got nearly everything in my loft going right back to the earliest ataris but I sold the dreamcast I had (it was with plenty of games , in mint condition) as I needed the money to buy something else.

I've since picked up another one but it's a bit tatty and only has a couple of games so I'd like to get a good'un again

I got the lot iin my loft I think. Theres only a few machines I am missing. Notable by there absence are the snes and vectrex. I seem to have everything else from the popular machines. SWMBO doesnt like it, but its tuff.

I've got a few rarities up there (and plenty of common machines - 7 C64s!!!) but I'm also mssing a vectrex. Annoying thing is I remember seeing quite a few of them at boot sales 10 years ago when I was at university and couldn't really afford them.

I'm trying to get rid of the tatty unboxed ones and just keep nicer examples

Worse thing is, my brother who isnt really into games has a boxed vectrex in my mums loft with 15 games and as far as I know they only released 18 official ones and they are all pictured on the box. He's a sod. he won't let me have it either.

I do have a factory sealed copy of berzerk for the vectrex though. Dont know how I came by it, but I know its mine. :)

Spotted a vectrex at a car boot, but it was not in a good enough state for me to buy it. I recently bought a 3do off ebay with 30 odd games to add to my collection.

Quick apology, we seemed to have hijacked the thread.

I've started on full sized arcade machines as well now.

I have a roadblasters and a gauntlet II in my conservatory , plus a converted cab running MAME in the lounge

A converted cab for mame is on my project list. One day I will build myself something. I would loved to have owned an original arcade machine. Not sure what game I would go for if only given the choice of one. Probably double dragon or something like shinobi

Both of those play perfectly on a standard MAME cabinet.

I'm restricting myself to stuff that isn't emulated or playable on a normal two-joystick-and-three-buttons cabinet , hence the two I have already.

I'd love a star wars sit-down machine but that's a bit outside my budget at the moment.

I'm considering selling my MAME machine soon as I fancy building a new one.

did you convert an old cabinet or build on eout of mdf? I was going to go the mdf route and buy an xarcade two player controller to fit to it.

I bought a standard JAMMA cabinet that I gutted and rebuilt. It looks much more authentic than a DIY job , is quicker and easier , and will almost certainly be a lot more solid (unless you are a great carpenter).

www.drzoidberg.co.uk has all the details of it's construction although it's a bit out of date as I replaced the Duron based PC with a newer Athlon XP machine.
