Ford Ka, 63 plate

Featured Replies

So after my Cee'd decided to throw a hissy fit prior to part exchanging the dealer has kindly lent me a 63 plate Ka 1.2 Studio until my S-Max is ready to be collected.

Its basicbasic...really basic. So what do(nt) you get:-

No central locking

No alloys

Wind Up Windows

No air con

What do you get then?

Trip computer

Bluetooth hands free stereo with voice control

Start Stop tech

A punchy little 1.2 engine. And its a hoot, pulls well and plenty of poke to overtake. I am still shocked at just how nippy it is. My 25 mile journey home tonight was great, and not once did I wish for more power. I had fun on the twisties and was comfortable on the long stuck behind a lorry sections.

The stereo is decent enough and a lot of the switchgear is similar (read the same) as the fiat 500, which I love. The trip computer for example is identical as is most of the centre console.

My only niggle and I had the exact same with the 500 is that you sit too high up and the height isn't adjustable enough (on this one there is no height adjustment)

Overall a brilliant little car and if your looking for a little runabout give it a look!

I'd rather not tbh

Bring back the Mk1 I say.

That was so SWEEEET!

Our 2008 1.2 500 doesn't have start stop but probably

more or less the same engine and I got ours into

triple digits last weekend on my private runway.

On the flat it performs pretty well but is happiest at

about 80 in 5th.  Not bad for just 69bhp

Ours achilles heel is its lack of torque.  it had to do the

road that takes you out of Woolacombe bay in first gear.

Thats terrible for a car that weighs so little. Its only about 950kg.
