My and my vRS' first track day

Featured Replies

Well, after 4 years of driving, i've finally done my first track (in my own car) :p I'm at uni doing Auto and Motorsport Engineering and one of my course mates managed to organise a track day at a local airfield for a VERY good price :)

My fabia is totally standard with just a pd160 to its name and was running on budget tyres. To start with i didnt know the track at all but after a tuition lap i was a lot better and the car gripped pretty well and had enough poke out of slow corners to surprise even the 300+hp focus st....until about 50mph when he came barreling past. Had a good few tussles with a mate in his celica but he was running better tyres and just had the edge through the corners (not on the straights though)

All in all a great day ( apart from a small coolant leak ). I would upload pics but it's THE most complicated thing in the world  :)

Sounds like you had fun :)

Your uni course sounds like a good one too! :)
