Fabia II 2008 program remote using VCDS - Help required.

Featured Replies

One of the remotes has stopped working on our 2008 Fabia II (2).

Replacing the battery has not helped, the spare key works so I think the remote is faulty.

Part No. on the remote part of the key is: 1J0 959 753 DA, so my plan was to buy this complete key:

and just use the remote part of it, but it says Skoda: Fabia (2000 - 2007) although the part No. matches my existing one.

The Part on of the Central Convenience module is:

Address 46: Central Conv.        Labels: 6Q0-959-433.lbl
   Part No: 5J0 959 433 A
   Component: 03 Komfortgerát     0001
   Coding: 00018

My questions are:

Will this approach work?

Which if the programming steps detailed here:

Will I need to use?

I have a fully licensed copy VCDS and the latest version.

Thanks for any help.

Key probably just needs syncing with vcds, rather than buying a new fob

You maybe right but as the remote that's stopped working is the one that's been used since the car was new it's got a bit worn anyway.

I decided to buy the key linked to in my first post.

I removed the remote part of it and it fitted the old key portion exactly.

As we've got both the original keys I tried this method of matching the new remote: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Co22N70Gw

This worked so I didn't bother with VCDS.
