spacers for a vrs.

Featured Replies

What are the bebifits? Just cosmetic? Do they make much of a difference on looks?

I put 20mm on the rear of mine and I like the appearance, the wheel/tyre full's the wheel arch  much better. As for handling I can't say I've noticed any difference, but I got what I wanted. If you do fit spacers make sure you get the right bolts, right length and some are champhered some are tapered.

16mm hubcentric spacers on the rear of my fl vrs combi.

They can and do rub occasionally.

Do they make a noticabke difference to looks?

They will push the wheels/tyres further out to the edge of the wheel arch giving it a more aggressive look

They sure do.

I will take a few pics later for you.

Is there any that wont rub? Is it just the back or do people put them on front as well? Some pics from the back before and after would be good.

Got stuck at something else today

I will get on it tomorrow for you.

I think 10mm on front will fit and I would only go to max of 15mm on the back.

You need to factor in whether your lowered or not, what size wheels/tyres your running?.

The bigger the adaptor the further out your wheels will sit, to play it safe I'd go with the above 15mm rear 10mm front. Always use hubcentric spacers (bolt on if possible) that way you'll be able to locate the wheel and have no adverse movement.

What et are your wheels?

Example: 18" zeniths are et51 if you add a 15mm spacer that'll take them to et36.

I run no spacers but my wheels are 8.5x18 ET25 so they are pretty snug.

from factory:-

front track width = 1528 mm

rear track width =1508 mm

that's a difference 20mm.

I put 12mm hubcentric spacers on mine to reduce that gap.

18inch neptunes and down 30mm. What does "hubcentric" mean?

I have two spare sets of top quality, alloy spacers for sale with the correct length extended bolts. Both are hub-centric 5x112.

One pair are +15mm (30mm total for the axle) Eibach.

The other pair are rare +8mm (16mm total for the axle) H&R. These are special as they are hub-centric, but also "wheel centric", in that they have a proper lip for the wheel to sit on. The 8mm spacers H&R distribute in the UK do not have this. Trust me on this, I talked to a lot of suppliers. I ended up buying these from a German supplier. AFAIK, no other manufacturer makes less than a 10mm spacer with a lip. I recommend against using spacers without this lip - I have personally had bad experiences with flat faced spacers, even hub-centric ones.

PM me if you're interested in either. I'll try and get a proper for sale thread up for them in the next week. I've not priced them up yet.

As promised.

Was not too sure of angles to take pics of to show the lack of gap.

If you view your own car from these angles you will see clearly the difference.

Hope these help

You can see how far out they are sitting if you look along the door sill and lower arch

Spacers will make a big difference to the look of the car, as mentioned a lot of members go for 10mm front and 15mm rear but this is down to personal choice as well.

Think ill go for that. Do 15mm defo not catch with a 30mm drop? What does hubcentric actually mean?
