firstly i am in the middle of sorting out a vcds read but was just asking if this has happened to anybody here

its on a 2009 octavia vrs le cr diesel.

i was driving along( had been driving for about 50 minutes) & the glow plug light came on . drove a short distance (2 miles) no difference to drive. tried it again the next morning light came on after a minute stopped the car & restarted it glow plug & engine management light came on . drove home & havent started it again.

My car did this but had a loss of power 9no turbo) and cruise wouldn't work. It was an erratic problem and it felt like fuel starvation to me as the car felt sightly like it was misfiring a bit.

 

I changed the filter (which was black and only 2 weeks old from a Skoda Service) and no change. I took the throttle pedal off and figured out how to take it apart and cleaned the contacts on the 'pot slider'(?) and not had the problem since.

Hi. I had an issue recently where the glow system light would come on intermittently and also flash "Engine Fault: Workshop" on the Maxi dot, it wouldn't stay on for long and didn't seem to effect perfromance. I assumed it might be a glow plug(s) on the way out. Then the engine light came on permanently, read the faults with VCDS and turned out to be a DPF pressure sensor that had failed, report showed faults P2545 and P2453.

had the dpf sensor changed a couple of years ago

I had the same two warning lights illuminate in my 2012 FL vRS CR after a weasel had chewed through a sensor tube and a sensor wire!  Probably not the cause of your problem!!!

The list of possibilities is endless.

 

You really need to get it scanned and post back with the fault codes.

 Hi, I have an issue where the glow system light would come on intermittently and flash too. I've just had it scanned, the fault code came up ENGINE FAULT UNKNOWN 7397 PASSIVE/SPORADIC.

does anyone know what this is?
