1st Free service done & warranty work.

Featured Replies

Just got back from my dealers. 10K service done all ok :)

I had 3 warranty items for them to do.

1) Headlights way too low from new.

They were adjusted to the maximum height as he said they were low.

2) Noisy rear brakes.

They were cleaned and handbrake adjusted.

3) Clutch release backlash noise.

Mechanic stated no fault found :(

I said to the service manager I'll take him out for a drive as it does it all the time in any gear. He heard the noise straight away and said that it's a characteristic of the gearbox on these (suprise, suprise). He has made a record of it incase anything further happens to it.

That's about it really. I also told them to not clean or touch the car as i had just detailed it :). Walked out with £0 to pay :)

I have had two and not heard a noise from the clutch release bearing or the gearbox on either ,so I would say its not common with this gearbox at any age or mileage.

I did say it sounds very meshy and always get this clutch lashing sound on gearchanges. It's when you release the clutch to take up drive you can hear it. He did say they've had no bulletins in relation to this or gearbox faults. He thought I meant the clutch click but I haven't got that. The only thing Skoda mention is a change of gearbox oil if somebody complains about noise/difficulty changing gear.

I'll see how it goes as it's done it from new.
