Fabia 1 VRS Radiator & Cambelt Change query

Featured Replies

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could offer their advice on the following;

According to the service log my VRS had a 'toothed belt & tensioner' change at 39k in November 2009, I have searched on here and apparently Skoda have advised 4 years or 60k intervals for cambelt changes. My VRS is on 86k at the minute. With this in mind would it be advisable to get a cambelt, tensioner, water pump etc change sooner rather than later?

Also my radiator has developed the usual O/S leak recently therefore would it be advisable to replace the radiator by myself before the cambelt change or would it be better to get the garage who change my cambelt etc change the rad at the same time?

I have had a search on here regarding changing the radiator. As a novice would you suggest this to be a job too far or given enough time and by following guides/workshop manuals is it a managable task?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would get the belt and water pump done as it's more than four years since last done :)

Also get the aux belt done at same time if there is no record of it being done.
