If you count the production of its UK cousin/predecessor, the Oxford, then this has got to be the longest production run of a model ever .

I reckon the beetle changed more over it's production run than the Ambassador.

I think that the "Oxford" name was in continuous use from 1913 -1971 ? That trounces the Beetle on own.
