Featured Replies

I am toying with the idea of replacing the head unit fitted to my 2006 Superb Edition 100, generic photo of one is here

This will fit a MKI Fabia, MKI Octavia and MKI Superb..
I imagine it would also fit just about any other VAG model as well, but you need to check this.

It will also come with the 6 CD multi changer, PIN number for the DX, manual and CD for the sat nav.

Not sure on what they are worth, the last one on eBay sold for £363 without a multi changer.

So how's £200

How easy is the multichanger to link up?

Do you not need the wiring loom?

Thanks

Škoda do not normally include wiring looms for equipment not fitted, however my 2004 Comfort had a multi changer as std, does the Elegance not then?

(the Edition 100 is basically an Elegance with a few more toys)

Sold my elegance a while ago, running a 2005 fabia vrs at the minute, can't see any wiring for it :(

Had one of these head units in my other vrs a couple of year ago, really like them!

What's the sat nav facility like?

Is it touch screen?

It has 5 digit postcode search (full 7 digit was not introduced on a Superb until mid 2010) and is not touch screen.

I know it works as I have tried it the once (which it got me to where I was going) but other than that I am not sure of it’s full capabilities or features.

A few actual photo’s:

There is a tiny mark on the screen which I never even noticed until it was removed from the car, the screen also swivels up / down left / right.

I think the satnav is quite good, refresh is quick enough and map is quite clear with different viewing options of the terain as well as 10 different zooms and a night and day viewing choice.

Where is the aerial located for the gps?

I have a 2007 Fabia vRS SE, will it be plug and play?

The Superb has the GPS aerial built into the radio aerial.

Most people use an aftermarket GPS aerial which gets hidden behind the dash.

is this still available, quite interested in this for my octy

What car is it going in a MKII Octavia?

(I'm using the phone in France ATM so can't see)

Will fit Fabia MK1, Octavia MK1 and Superb MK1.

Should be a direct fit with just a GPS antenna and a CD changer cable.

Phil
