Hi all, just wondering if it's possible to retrofit cruise control on the 1.2 6v, didn't think that it was possible on the 1.2 engines but seen some posts around and about with a 12v having it fitted but would love it on our 6v!

Any one done it or know if it's possible?

Don't know a great deal about it but know it's not "easily possible" certain ecu's need to be changed.

I wouldn't bother TBH....better to change car I would say, mk1 vRS with cruise are cheap enough nowadays and far more capable for cruise, just not worth the effort.

 

I would also imagine the power on 1.2 6v to be a bit lacking (not quite so on the 80hp 12v I would thought).

 

I don't think it would really make sense as the car might struggle to maintain constant speed on hills etc, could drop out of cruise due to lack of power where you would really need to drop down to get more power.

Yeah hear all that! The same thoughts going through my head. We've had the car for most of its miles, plus did a full engine rebuild due to leaking valves just a year or so ago. As a result it's a very reliable motor! Hence wanting to add to it rather than swap. Although I guess it's not everyone's first choice!

You find the fabia section is more of a "vrs section" so if you ain't got one people don't wonna know! If you make a thread sayin how do I get more power from my 1.2 every reply will be tellin you to save up and buy a vrs....
