Tyre shine....

Featured Replies

My megs endurance is running out so about to replace it. I have been fairly impressed with the results of the megs but it would be boring to buy the same again so any recommended products?

Chemical guys new look tyre and trim gel.

Had my bottle about two years now and still haven't used an eighth

of it yet. Does so much more than tyres too.

Currently in an AS Highstyle phase myself actually.

But can also vouch for Meg's Endurance Gel and also CarPro PERL as good options I still have on the shelf.

Used autosmart high style for years and happy with it ....use too much and it's a bit flingy so best to brush it on let it dry for a bit then take the excess of with a sponge. i buy 5 lts for £25 from the A.smart rep.

Absolute bargain for 5L at that price - i only got a 1L bottle last year and looks like it will last me approx 3 years at this rate!!!!

Meg's endurance for me

Good Morning, Chris.

I've been using this for a while now, but find that no matter how careful I am, I still get `fling` all along the side of the car. How do you avoid this?

Regards

Mike.

Mike,

I always apply, leave for a while then wipe any excess away.

Not had it fling since I adopted this method.

Can recommend Autofinesse Satin tyre gel. Works very well and need to use barely any at a time.

The Croftgate Tyre product is really nice, I had this in a waxybox, mid sheen and dried quickly too.  No sling when I applied it on my own car.

I wipe it on, then wipe off the excess with a rag. No fling and calms

the sheen down a bit. I want black tyres not shiny ones.

Yes...wipe off with cloth

I use the same one every time it's well impregnated now

To apply I use one of these:

Although when I came to use at the weekend, I couldn't find it! I have noticed that Bears Wax Factory have a slightly different version here which look like total y foam: http://www.bearswaxfactory.co.uk/bwf-foam-tyre-dressing-applicator-out-of-stock-289-p.asp

^^ Great stuff - same here, had a bottle for ages and it hardly goes down! As with most of Chemical Guys range, good value for money too.

I buy a pack of three of these for about a pound from the pound shops and slice them into 4 or 5 small brick size pieces and i find they work perfect and not just for tyre slick application ......

I've used these applicators before and now gone back to a cloth.... I prefer the cloth method as it prevents over application

I also use AS high style for other uses around the car especially when i take of the rims and do an under arch detailing and maybe use a bit around the engine bay....
