Skoda Octavia Estate vRS TDI DSG - journo long-term test

Featured Replies

Hello all

I'm a motoring journalist for Motoring Research media agency... and have just taken delivery of my latest long-term test car, an Octavia Estate vRS TDI.

Looking forward to engaging with fellow Octavia drivers on the forum - and hope some Mk3 drivers will interact with me as my long-term review continues. Feedback and comparisons would be great!

I'm just penning my first update report, after a week on the road in the car. Here's the introduction, as of last Friday (23 May)... http://www.motoringresearch.com/blog/first-5-minutes-skoda-octavia-vrs-long-termer-0523943762

Cheers

Well done Richard,

Six months / Long termer, is a bit of a contradictions in terms in my view, unless you anticipate doing say 12000 miles plus in that time.

What is the plan for the six months  ,to fully put the car through its paces  or is it a normal punter day to day chariot .

Richard,

Enjoy your first weekend experience and the remainder of your testing time!

Hi Richard - just found your post by accident - welcome. You might find the Octavia III thread better territory for feedback from VRS drivers - its a very busy thread and you'll get a lot of interest I'm sure. I'm one of the many waiting on my order from January, following a great test drive in the petrol version. Cheers, Les.

Plan is to put it through its paces as much as possible: we motoring journs rack up the miles so I'm aiming for five figures on the odo. Some cycling activities will be involved too!
