The Rapid SE Connect

Featured Replies

My first post in this section so as the title says, the Rapid SE Connect is on a deal @£12990 OTR

Is this a good deal? I don't know how the Rapid prices are doing and what deals are out there.

I would actually like a new car but I've also been looking at low mileage SH and the Rapid looks ideal to maybe replace my Citigo.

One small consideration does the Rapid have a proper rear centre seat seat belt or are they all lap belts. The reason being is I have the Citigo which is only a 4 seater and at times I need that third seat in the rear, too many grandkids, and another one arrived this week.

Also looking at most posts in this section is the 86ps engine adequate for the car and guess the model mentioned above comes with a 5 speed box, 6 speed is the 105ps?

Its the 82ps 1.2 petrol loaded with extras. Seems like a good deal to me especially at 0% finance.

It is however a 5 speed so wouldn't be my personal choice for this reason. Also IIRC not much choice on colour.

Oh and yeah proper rear seat belts all round

At the moment you can get £2000 off the rapid i do not think you can get that off the connect as already discounted. And £1000 off the rapid spaceback plus 0% finance

Is the £2000 discount off the full OTR Skoda main site price at every dealer, or at selected dealers? I don't recall seeing any offers on any dealer website apart from the Rapid connect special. I'm guessing you need to go into a dealer to see what they have on offer?

all dealers look at www.skoda.co.uk look for offers 3 BIG REASONS price is off OTR

I have tried to send you a PM but it will not send

Thanks, I looked earlier at the finance offer (0%) and £2000 towards the deposit, so that's where the £2k discount is I reckon.

I don't do finance normally but if I can work something out to get a deal on a new car then I may go and talk to them. Keep the money with in my bank, for what that's worth or you can pay off earlier maybe.

0% is supposed to run out this month? You can't go wrong really - keep it in the bank, as you say. Connect has a great spec and price. I am very happy with my Toledo - drives well, great rear space and boot. You will get 3 proper seat belts in the rear. Either 1.2tsi is quick and economical but the 105 has the 6 speedo box. Great deals out there second hand too. Either way, great space n drives well. PS the Rapid/Toledo have standard curtain airbags in the rear to protect your little ones too.

I've just ordered a Rapid Sport from Gordon Lamb Skoda in Derby. £3k discount from list (so only £12,630) plus 3 years 0% pcp. Even the internet brokers couldn't get near that price with the 0% deal included, although they could offer £450 extra discount if you paid cash.

I was originally looking at pre registered Fabia Monte Carlo's, but with extra space and kit (6 speed, curtain airbags, Bluetooth etc) against the Monte, and the finance deal included, the Rapid was too good to refuse.

The Connect has a different range of kit (parking sensors wound have been nice on the Sport) but it wasn't on the 0% deal and currently doesn't seem to be getting discounted much below the £12,995 list price.

Well I took a first look at a Rapid today and liked it. Loads of boot space and looks like loads of back seat room for the little ones (grandkids)

Now torn between this SE Connect deal @£12990 or Elegance although more money. It's a case of do I want the 6 speed of the Elegance or 5 speed  Connect, can I do without sat nav, different alloys etc. So then I got looking at a sport and a Spaceback (in the brochure) and comparing prices extras and internet brokers, of which I have used before to purchase the Citigo. Carfile have some good prices ATM so will compare with a deal with the dealer.

I popped over to a Nottinghamshire dealer where I got the Citigo from although I live around 8 miles from Gordon Lamb (ex Clock) near Spondon/Borrowash, I might give them a go later this week. I initially wanted to go for a secondhand  Elegance @£10,500 but put just under £2,500 and I can drive away a brand new 64 plate be it a SE Connect special or if I worked it out correctly maybe an Elegance @£13,500 ish that's with a paint choice and spare wheel. Not too keen on the part ex for my Citigo but again on my last 2 car purchases I sold my car privately and got more £s that way. The extra off for cash sounds good at Gordan Lamb so might ask that one.

Hope you enjoy your Sport, you never know I might end up getting one.
