Octy2 FL 1.6TDi CR - juddering pulling away

Featured Replies

Posting this on behalf of a family friend and just wonder if anyone has had this happen, or heard of it?

MY10 car, apparently they've been through the mill a bit with their local dealer; spent some money on replacing all the glowplugs, engine cleaner treatments and using premium diesel, but without fully solving the problem. Issue is still intermittent.

I've not had chance to run a VCDS scan for fault codes yet, but the dealer has said no issue has been found. Not quite sure I believe that at this stage, as they've mentioned that the glowplug dash light has flashed up.

Thinking DPF possibly, although don't know much about this engine and re-gen cycles. I know they do quite a bit of short, local trips.

Any suggestions or info welcome :)

Cheers,
Steve

The CR got an anti shudder valve mate? My missus has this on her PD 170 and can see there is a leak right by the valve so guessing that its the cause for her at least.

Not certain, but I would have thought it would have one?

Do you reckon that would log a fault?

Their have been reports on this, especially on early models.

Although mine is also a 2010 model I haven´t noticed this, it has been mapped as you know.

Many that have this issue normally is solved by a new ECU software from dealer.

Is this always when starting or just in cold for the first few miles or so.

Does your friend hear a knocking sound and the car doen´t go when acelerating.

I myself get this when cold, few miles driven, and I ended up concluding that it was the fuel I put in.

After refill from reserve pratically goes away. No vagcom error is showed. My friend at Bosch dealer says it´s water in the fuel.

Get a fuel/injector cleaner, I use http://www.stanadyne.com/view.php?id=1

I used this on my megane 1.9dci as I had a knocking and it was an injector. Noise gone away now.

Not saying this is the problem.

Thanks. A few leads to go on there.

A dealer that's actually interested in solving the problem would be good as well I think!

Sorry fella just seen the question and it hasn't logged a specific fault on her Leon. She had others but they were due to fault US sensor causing the car to go into dpf limp mode (changed for Malaysia part) so I was running a regen and clearing all the faults, but there wasn't an and shudder fault that I saw sorry.
