removing headliner

Featured Replies

Has anyone removed and refitted the headliner in their mk2 vrs hatch?

Im looking at fitting sound deadening and looking for pointers or removal and refitting

I've done an estate which is basically the same but without the C pillars.

What do you want to know?

It's all straight forward apart from the B pillar pieces.

Whats the main process of removing it etc? Is it clips and torx screws like most things on the car?

The rear trim by the boot hinges pulls straight down on clips.

Sun visors, grab handles, light fitting are on torx.

A pillar on frictions posts.

B pillars need to be pulled wide to get the plastic clips inside over the metal retainers on the bodywork.

C pillars I don't know about on a hatch, but it will e a combination of torx screws and metal clips.

The headliner itself just drops down but may be held up by the rubber door seals.
