00816 - Power Steering Sensor (G250): Open or Short to Plus

Featured Replies

Hi all !
My 2004 model Fabia have this problem, And yes i have new  G250 sensor and wire too ( i have Smi Koyo rack).
sometimes when i but car running this MIL? light goes off but when i touch steering wheel this light come on.
And sometimes i can reset fault codes but they come back right away. The question is what to do next? Do you have any suggestions? Car does not have ESP system when I heard that these should be adjusted by the ECU etc if you replace new G250 sensor.

Yes i chek by vcds everything about powersteering and those mesure blocks 1,2,3,and 4 and everything seems normal
Voltages was ok
steering pump rpm was ok

G250 was ok
And when i turn steering wheel it show how fast i do that

Pump use 1amps to about 50-60 amp when i turn Steering wheel etc...
So everythin looks okey...But i still get this faul code...and i know its do not work correct ( i feel it when i drive slow speed ..exampel parking area..)

Thx for help :) !

Check the connector where the sensor plugs in. Clean it by spraying IPA into it to get out any salt/water. If the pump still has its foam covering, you might want to consider removing it as it gets waterlogged. You can also get this error if the battery is failing.

Okey few result what i found out....
Finaly i lost turn rate (group 2)  it give just 0.00 or - 0,00 and all so i get sometimes i got this fault code too but not all the time. 00566 - Steering Assistance Operation
27-00 - Implausible Signal.

And now pump motor running about 1664 rpm all the time and it dosent matter what is cap speed ( parking or 100mph ;))

I Clean rack/and G250 and pump connector but no result....

Now  think is that possible my steering pump is faulty....or somthing else...??
