Process after arrival in the uk.

Featured Replies

My car arrived in the uk on Sunday. Dealer days it is now waiting for a transport order.

Do I have to wait until it reaches the dealer before I can sign the finance paperwork and sort reg/tax out etc? Is the finance paperwork signed on collection of the vehicle?

Wait for it to arrive at the steeler in case it gets damaged on route or never arrives.

My steeler advises Skoda has a real problem with tracking cars and there is no way to tell when it is scheduled to arrive at a dealer. They get a days notice at best.

Steeler will register and sort out tax. Don't sign any finance until you have inspected the car and have the keys in sight. It may have a fault that you reject.

Thanks. I ordered an already built car because I was told I would probably have it by the end of last month. I'm slowly wishing I had waited for a car built to my spec with all these delays. Dealer said he can put a priority rush to dealers on it when it hits the uk. Don't think it's working.

I'm detailing the car myself when I pick it up so hopefully they will just do the mechanical checks etc for the pdi.

My car took 2 weeks to get from the port of entry to the steeler. That was a pre-built too as a 4/5 month wait was not an option for me. Steleer couldn't not tell me any delivery time as SKU have no tracking/scheduling system that steelers can access.

Unless the car is perfect don't pay. I'm sure many Briskodians would be happy to go to the dealer with you to help with the pre-delivery inspection. If you don't spot a fault you have missed something!

Thanks but wouldn't I need 2 inspections. 1 when I fill in the finance etc and 1 on delivery. I guess something could happen between signing and pickup day.

It would be great if someone in the know on here could help me inspect it. Quite a few things frighten me like the transport blocks being left on and oil tank nearly overflowing etc.

Anyone in the know able to come to the Beds/Bucks area to help me inspect when I have a date?
