Black streaks running from my window rubber surrounds

Featured Replies

Hello I have had my White Citigo car for approximately two weeks now, and loving it.

However from all my rubber window surrounds I have streaks of black running down the sides of my car?

Am I right to be worried about this, or will this stop in time, due to the "newness" of the car.

Ours is exactly the same and still does it from the wing mirror area after 20 months

Whenever I highly detail any of my cars I get a certain amount of streaking as you show, usually before the next time I wash it.

I reckon what you have is normal for any new car, it was similar when I got my Citigo although shows up more on your white car.

Haven't seen it on mine although mines a darker colour.

Seen it on my CitiGo and my parents' Up!. I think it's because rain and splash water collects in that corner of the window before running down the side, depositing some of the dirt that's suspended in it along the way.

I've had a similar black streak running down from the driver's door handle. The car has just been serviced and valeted, so it's nice and clean at the moment, but I'll see if it reappears.

My White Octavia does exactly the same it is nearly two years old and still does it.

Every car I've owned has had this, it's why some detailers use compressed air to blow out every remaining drop of water after cleaning it.

Normally it just looks like a streak of water, but I guess on a white car that shows the dirt as well as the water 'stain'.
