Yep, back to stock - every mod coming off and being sold.  I find out tomorrow if i'm redundant or not.  I have a few parts in the classifieds..

its horrible Rob I feel your pain, as you know I was there myself this time last year and somehow managed to hold on to the car

but Im now putting my VRS back to stock shortly, I love her but 3 years are up and Im ready for a change

In 2007 I was made redundant after 18yrs.  Best thing ever.  It did take me 9 months to get full time employment but a lot of the "odd" jobs I did in the meantime were great fun.

 

Good luck with it all.  Don't be afraid to take on a job that you might think is too hard / too easy / too lowly paid / too boring / too out of your comfort zone.  You might be surprised what it leads to.

good news, i'm keeping my job for now.   hard to be positive about it though as three of my colleagues are losing theirs, but hey, life goes on.

 

standard setup on the car feels very strange and it looks weird with that huge arch gap, but the spin off is i can fly over speed bumps now without worrying..   in fact i might try to find an excuse to do some off-roading now i have so much ground clearance .

 

unsurprisingly all the mod sold pretty quick (last bits being picked up tonight) and that does mean i now have some cash to finish my vw camper project so that's good news i guess.

Mate, unless there's Golden Handcuffs keeping you there, I'd look for other work and move on under your own terms

 

The guys I left behind all had quite amazing company superannuation schemes to hold them back and stayed behind doing really menial work (the employer was hoping to bore them to death).  Every time there was another round of redundancies they were stressed out of their minds.  I moved on, got more pay, better conditions & more interesting work.  I was on a different pension scheme so there was nothing to hold me back.
