ET for 8" wheel

Featured Replies

I am looking for wheels for my new Octavia i ordered a month ago, it should arive mid july.

I am not going for OEM alloys, so i wanted to ask you what the perfect ET is for a 8" wheel? I tried searching and came up with ET40 to fit nicely with the fender/wheel arch. Can anyone confirm?

My Winter Wheels are 8" with an ET of 50 running 225 tyres and they fit fine.  235/245 tyres might be better and would still fit in the arches. A smaller ET would push the wheels further out - use this calculator

Thanks for the replys.

From what i read in the links. ET40 on an 8" should be ok, and pull the wheel about 15mm outwards, compared to the OEM 7.5" ET38.

ET38????

My standard wheels are 7.5 x 18 ET51.  My winter wheels are 8 x 18 ET 45 and they fit fine and don't have any apparent torque steer problems with the 6mm extra outset.
