Couple of Issues

Featured Replies

I have a 2009 vRS CR. I just had the long life service done today and they picked up that a gasket on the EGR is slightly leaking, they told me they didn't do it as didn't have the part in stock and I could bring it in next week.

I was wondering if it is an easy job as the part is only about £5 and they want an hour or so labour.

The part is 03G 131 547 C if anyone has done this, could you let me know if it's straight forward.

Secondly I get random seat belt warnings when I am driving, I can be driving along and suddenly the seat belt chime comes on with warning light for a few seconds then stops, sometimes a minute later it will do it again or go an hour or so without doing it. It is pretty random so if anyone knows where I could start looking I would appreciate it.

Cheers

Not sure about the EGR but the seat belt chime can be disabled permanently so no more warnings - easy fix.

It maybe the switch in the latch mechanism but I would just disable it.

Thanks for the reply. How are the seat belt chimes disabled is it in the menu or do I need VCDS.

Cheers

You need a friendly member with VCDS, theoretically the dealer have the capability but I doubt they will do it.

The EGR is in a really awful position.

I have the feeling a driveshaft has to come out to get to it...

Oh dear that's not good, maybe better to pay the labour charge.

Sorry to revive this thread but is the silver thing with VWAG written on it in centre of picture the EGR valve?
