I'm not sure what oil I need for the above engine the manual states VW 505 01 for non-dpf on fixed service interval, or 507 00 or 506 01 for non-dpf only for flexible service interval, I'm not quite sure what service interval the car is on.

505 01 is edge 5-40 turbo diesel and 504 00 -507 00 is edge 5w 30

Quoting castrol specs there.

Fixed service intervals (10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever is reached first) - VW 505.01.

 

Variable service intervals (upto approx, 20,000 miles or 24 months) - VW 506.01.

 

Want the best oil? VW 507.00 is the latest diesel engined oil, specifically suited for DPF equipped diesels but perfectly acceptable for your engine too.
