2007 octavia Vrs- 01435 fault code

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Have the 01435 fault code and ESP light on my 2007 octavia. I understand this is a well known issue. Had a search on the forum but not 100% on the solution. What's the best way to get it sorted? Skoda dealership or local independent or any other ideas? What's the cost of the repair ballpark? Any advice appreciated.

You have the dreaded, G201 sensor failure. there has been plenty written on this over the years, initially it meant a new ABS unit for about £1200 but you can now get a repair kit to sort the problem. A local VW group specialist should be able to sort it out. The cost I'm not sure on but think it shouldn't be more than a few hundred pounds.

For what it's worth, it wouldn't hurt to send a communication to Skoda UK as I was under the impression the ABS failures on the Teves MK60 and the G201's are acknowledged by SKODA as faulty parts and were being replaced either with 100% goodwill offer or at least some recompense.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

My Scout is under investigation at the moment for similar ESP light "gremlins"

Skoda has been a **** about it. Audi was replacing them without argument apparently as were BMW. Skoda was doing some goodwill for people with FSSH but were charging (~£70 I think) to scan the car first.

Mine went last year. I'd not been near a dealer since year 3 and my MOT was due so I opted to get it done at a VW specialist and not bother with Skoda. I got the part for £180 from a Skoda dealer via ebay. There are a couple of versions and you have to get the right one. Couple of hours labour to fit. It's a specialist job and the part needs coded in and calibrated to stick to a VAG specialist if you're not going to dealer.

Thanks all. I post up the verdict once it's sorted.
