Roof bar mount covers

Featured Replies

this may sound like a petty one but since Skoda can't approve a towbar I have had to resort to roof bars. Doesn't matter if you have the Skoda bars or Thule the little black covers in the roof are useless. I fit the bars at the weekend. (you don't want them on all the time they are like an extra brake) and it doesn't take long until the little covers are kn----red and fall into the slots. Quick fix........ Biro springs. Pullthe little black stops under the trim forward and fit old biro springs behind them. Then flick the covers back in. eh ho spring loaded covers. If you try hard you can find posh biros with brass springs that dont rust. I now pinch biros from anywhere. So sad

Is it just me?????

No it's not just you, had similar problem will try your fix once I've been and bought new ones.

Wouldn't it be great if someone could make some moulded rubber covers for the holes. They would be easy to take in and out then.

I think STEW might be better off with parking sensors fitted to the roof after his brush with Tescos carpark..
