The joys of a turbo engine ;) no real power until the boost come in a remap may help a bit but as the turbo is reliant on exhaust gases.....

A remap helps loads you will see a massive increase in bottom end with a map

Yep, get it mapped. Will give you diesel like torque with a big load of extra bhp as well.

Remap. But maybe try the map first if possible, not all are the same in regards to delivery.

Remove the pre-cat, it helped my TFSI spool a little quicker. Mine passed all it's MOT's with out the pre-cat, the emissions read the same.

Easy to do: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/197778-pre-cat-removed/

Should give you a little more MPG's also.

Don't fit an aftermarket intake either as most of these move the torque up the rev range.

And as above, then get it mapped. A map on these engines makes a massive difference IMO.

Is the Pre cat the part you remove when you get a 3" downpipe/decat? Or is it another CAT?

You have two cats in the standard downpipe the pre cat is a small cat located closest the turbo

No running or mot issues by removing it you need to remove the down pipe and carefully knock out the insides

So you knock the insides of one CAT out, and the Decat pipe you buy with the 3" downpipe is the other?

No if you don't wanna go down the decat route you can just knock the pre cat out of the standard downpipe.if you were to buy a 3"decat downpipe replaces the entire downpipe ie pre cat and full cat

Do you see any improvements with a 3" decat downpipe on the car but without MAP? Obv mapped later on

i think it should help reduce lag and let the turbo spin up faster
