Replacing seat covers - anyone done?

Featured Replies

My Octavia is getting a bit leggy so the edge of the drivers backrest seat bolster has finally begun to wear through.

How easy is it just to replace the cover (do you need any tools to get the stretch the cover back on) ?

Or is it easier to replace the whole seat ?

(p.s. The Car has front side airbags).

try a "new" seat from a scrap yard,is the best option, and is cheap

Redoing the upholstery is a nightmare ,and if you are not very skilled the result will let down

I stripped the upholstery off my old car seats to wash them after the car had been sitting for a looong time.

Easy coming off, absolute mare getting them back on - lost bout a stone in sweat trying to do it, had no special tools,

just a leatherman, pliers and tons of swearing, sweating and blood loss!

After a day chain-sawing trees and sorting out the garden, with similar swearing and blood loss, I think I'll go the down the buy route!
