vRS creaking passenger side rear

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I recently had all new brake pads and discs and have started noticing a creaking coming from the rear passenger side. My handbrake seems a little loose so I was wondering if the fault lies there.

I tend to hear the creaking if a passenger gets in the car, and the handbrake isn't pulled right up, when coming to complete stop (with the brake pedal, so no handbrake involved) as the car lunges and sometimes when I let the handbrake off in the morning. If i push up and down above the wheel I can replicate the noise... again, only if the handbrake isn't pulled right up.

In my simplistic knowledge it is pointing towards the handbrake (popping off the cover i can see the 2 wires aren't even).... but I guess what is confusing me is why would it happen when coming to a stop using the brake pedal?

I think I will pop past the garage that did the new pads and discs, but any help or questions I should ask appreciated.

Cheers

I had a similar problem and the garage said it was the calliper. Replaced, and it's been fine since.
