A rushed detail

Featured Replies

Well today I decided I couldn't put it off any more I had to get the wife's car cleaned up so I can advertise it for sale.

So thanks to ChrisRs giving me a tutorial a while back I decided to go the whole hog and machine polish it.

How much fun was that! Very very satisfying!

Anyway I won't bore you with the full details but I will tell you what products I used...

I used

obsession wax shampoo

Dodo juice need for speed with machine.

Then AF power seal.. again with machine

Followed by dodo juice purple haze.

No joke Chris, I had to sit down after doing every panel.

Made me realise how much I'm going to struggle in future.

But still fun.. :)

Awesome results and top effort there buddy!

Wanna do mine next?!? LOL :)

Good luck with the sale on the Mazda btw.

Thanks ste, I was quite pleased with it. Sorry I haven't been able to collect the pads from you yet. I shall make an effort over the next few days if your around?

In the heat of the past couple of evenings, I had a bottle of water on standby to glug after doing a panel.  Amazing how necessary hydration is and how intensive machine polishing is (but would rather be using machine than by hand)

Please? Absolutely stunning work mate

Not a problem on the pads - i have some left from the last batch  ;)

Not a problem, happy to help.

Let me know how you get on. :)

Looks very good.  Amazing how much it can take out of you. I still do everything by hand, but hot days like these I make sure there's a jug of something cold in the fridge. Arms and shoulders usually ache for a couple of days afterwards.

Once I decided a few nice cold beers on a hot summery afternoon would make the job easier.  Hurt so much the next day.
