Question for member just taking delivery..

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am collecting that fantastic Superb on Saturday....Can't wait to drive it at long last, but I have a question for members that have taken delivery of a new car recently..

As you will know, the DVLA now do not issue a tax disc to the dealer, but send this in the post after registration,, So, my question is, how long did it take for your tax disc to arrive?

Stuart

Hi Stuart getting excited?

I put a private plate on mine the dealers sorted it out for me and the car was delivered with the tax disc on it January this year. They told me that being a dealer they could have the disc within a couple of days.

Would advise taking to the dealer and asking if the disk will be on the car when delivered.

Getting excited is an understatement. ..lol.... kid and Christmas spring to mind...lol

I did speak to the dealer, the car is being registered with my private plate. ...

He did say in his experience it takes a few days ... issue I may have is I may be going away the following weekend and it is illegal not to display the disc after 14 days.... bit of a bad idea for the DVLA for people in my circumstances :(

The DVLA state that if it's registered electronically on Friday the disc will be sent out on the Monday so hopefully it will be quick

As I recall it took about 5 days.

Enjoy your new car. They are great.

Good luck for tomorrow Stuart. I'm picking mine up on Thursday! Have you got insurance sorted yet or will dealer insurance get you home?

Hope mine is that quick :)

may need to go away for a week or so, and the clever DVLA change the system to save money and make it very easy for people in my position to break the law... they say it can take 10 days to arrive, but only give you 14 days to display it, very difficult if it takes that long and you have to go away :)

Fingers crossed it will be here mid week :)

Getting excited now.... .soon be behind the wheel :)

Hope the Superb will be just as reliable :)
