No more Monte's ?

Featured Replies

I've noticed on the Skoda builder you can't build a Monte Carlo any more have they finished this model due to the upcoming 'Black' model?

Is there a 'Black' Model being built before Mk2 Production stops.?

There are already Monte Carlo Tech Black Editions around.

So these are to be 'Black Editions;  that are Black in Colour.   So Black only 'Black editions'.

Not like 'Black Editions' from other manufacturers that come in choices of colours of vehicles.

Skoda really are not that very good at new ideas.

This time they seem to have got the Translation sorted though,

'A Black Edition is obviously going to be Black'.

No messing when it comes to the CEO of a Czech company.

Not like those German ones.

The salesman mentioned to me when my Monte went in for it's 1st service that there's only Monte Tech Black Editions left as the paint robots are being geared up for the new model therefore are being used to spray one colour only.

Don't know if this is true or not but it makes sense of the above post I suppose.

I guess Henry Ford would be a Skoda driver then, eh?

Price list on the ŠKODA website has both Fabia Monte Carlo hatch and estate are marked as:-

Stock vehicles only. Please speak to your local retailer for more information.

Price list section of the June 2014 brochure also marks the Monte Carlo as Model only available from stock.

Has your Mums vRS arrived in the UK, are you tracking it?

There are a few very low Mileage Demonstrators/Pre Registered 'Monte Carlo Estates' around with asking prices £12,000 - £13,000

& there must be plenty of good value Hatches.

It is a buyers market.

She had a call from the dealers on Tuesday 10th June 2014 that the car was being built the following week.

Therefore it was only a month from ordering to it being built.

I guess this means that there is spare capacity in the factory for such a quick turnaround.

She then had a call on the 25th June saying that the car had been built and was waiting at the docks ready to be dispatched to the UK.

The car should be delivered to the dealer within 3 weeks.

The dealer said they were happy to delay registration until September the 1st because my mother is away in August and would prefer delivery when she got back.

The dealer was not willing to move much on list prices of factory ordered cars but I guess that would be slightly different on pre-registered and stock cars.

I guess now is the best time to by a new Fabia as it's fast delivery time and after 7 years of production everyone knows the issues with the model so people know what they are buying.

It will be interesting to see if she ends up with the last car registered in UK, 64 plate vRS.

It is unbelievable that a Dealership Finance Director will sit with a car that has not been paid for, for 2 months.

They maybe got a Special Arrangement with Skoda to allow that because they normally have to be paid..

& it is First Registering a car in a new Quarter.

Im more amazed anyone who is buying a new car and has waited months for it is prepared to delay delivery just to get a later plate which makes no difference to anyone or anything!

I have a feeling that they will be wanting to First Register at the end of August as a 14 Plate.

PS.

What it does is delay when you part with Money if that is when you said you wanted the car,

Either Paying the Cash Money or start to pay your Payments if it is a Lease.

(which is why it is surprising that a Dealer can sit with a car for 2 months from a Factory Order Build.)

My Mother doesn't mind what the plate is but due to the fact she has booked the current car into the car park while she is away.

She would prefer to get the car when she gets back which just happens to be on 1st September.

When ordering the car the salesman said that the she would need to take delivery of the car with 10 days of the car arriving at the dealership.

I don't know what has changed for the Salesman to say 1st September delivery would be fine.

We shall see......

Lets hope he is still employed there, is it him you have heard from recently ?

It is doubtful he has collected commission on orders taken and received anything before he left the Dealership.

But it is not unheard of.

Yes he is the one that is phoning my Mother so he is still there.

I know he is going on holidays in the coming weeks.

I think its the finance company that pushes for the car to be delivered to customers as soon as.

Volkswagen Group are their own finance.  The job is Building & Selling vehicles & getting Money.

Finance on the Drip obviously changes hands from one Company to another.

Dealers are not Skoda the Company,  just agents-Retailers running Credit & getting Profits where they sell the Products.

If someone is paying Cash or an other Finance Company or Motability Finance pays for a car, then Money goes to the Dealer or Skoda.

Its usually all rather standard by the Contracts, Demonstrators have their usual rules behind being Display Models, then kept for 3 months or 3,000 miles.

Which is why a Dealer Holding a Factory Build/Order for 2 months for a Private Buyer is unusual.

But you have the Deal, so well done.

The Fabia Black Edition is now listed on the ŠKODA website with all other models available as well.

Black Edition is available in Black Magic Pearlescent or Candy White.

Here is the official marketing line taken from the website:-

The ŠKODA Fabia Black Edition is available in both Hatch and Estate body styles and comes with a 1.2 TSI 105PS engine.

We’ve also added refinements to this already rally-inspired ŠKODA including, heated front seats, Bluetooth and an Amundsen satellite navigation system with DAB.

And of course, at its core is the traditional ŠKODA offer of value for money and that legendary 'extra bit of car'.

I love the,

'this already rally-inspired SKODA'    &  the  'extra bit of car',

will be the corrosion on the rear brake drums of  'this already rally-inspired SKODA'.

From £15,490 On the road.

holly smoke,  that is some price they are asking.

About £4000 more than I paid and mine came with 3 years free servicing.

All you get extra extra is heated front seats, why you need that when they're cloth and DAB, I hope they're offering big discounts.

You can get an Ibiza FR for well under 12k with comparable spec, would be a no brainer for me.

To be fair, that's the asking price not what you pay.

The days of good value Fabias ended with the VAT free deals IMO.

I saw a black edition Fabia at Goodwood last week.

Looked OK, but odd the leather controls have red stitching while the front sport seats have white stitching.

Bit off a mismatch.

Like the nice dials on the Admunsen nav right under the cheap plastic dials for the air con.

They should add Climatronic IMO, would lift the interior a bit, along with having a matching colour on the interior stitching.

Agree; cannot understand why the grey seating uses mismatching white stitching but the red seats use black.

Went with the red seating option on our Monte for this very reason and it works well IMHO.
