Anyone with an L&K yeti?

Featured Replies

I have had my L&K a few days now and I decided to refresh myself with the brochure from when I ordered it.

And it clearly states in their that the L&K comes with....

carpets with brown stitching on.

L&K inscribed front mud guards.

guess what I do t have either and the mats I got with mine are unbranded and quite cheap.

The mats I got with my previous elegance had yeti wrote on them and they were much better quality.

so my question is this.. does anyone with an L&K yeti have either of these? If so could you please take a picture? I'm in talks with my dealership about it.

Thanks.

I'll check my carpets tomorrow.

Meantime, looking at your picture, you do have the 'L&K inscribed front mud guards' - for that read L&K badges on the front wings.

And remember there is that nice little get out written in small print in the brochure "subject to availability"!!

So what they are calling L&K inscribed mud guards is the L&K badge on the wing?

My car has no actual mud guards on it. Front or back.

Also do we have tv function available on the columbus L&K? The manual reads like it does but I can't get it to work.

Thanks again.

I guess mud guard = front wing.... which probably was true in 1930. Perhaps Skoda is using OAPs to translate their materials? Or more likely some 3rd party translation service somewhere where they still run old cars and which is using a really old dictionary... ;)

The L & K badge on the front wing is what they call the mud guard. The carpet mats are a standard mat with brown stitching which you have to get under a microscope to see. The mats are of the same quality that I had in my first yeti, ok but nothing special. I think the mats that had Yeti on them were there 'luxury mats' and the standard ones in the L & K are certainly not these.

They call the front wings the "mud guards", and if you think back to very old cars that is exactly what they are.

And no, you don't have TV fitted. It isn't fitted to UK models.

Oh what a shame.

Thank you all for your help anyway.

I have seen a retrofit kit available for DTV for the yeti. Buts it's beyond my capabilities but I might look into getting it done professionally.

By the way I've checked my mats and the actual carpets of the car, there is no brown stitching to be seen at all.

I'm not being petty just a little annoyed that skoda write things in the brochure that are so often wrong.

That's Skoda for you, and take the car configurator with a pinch of salt too!

I've just had a look at TIBETs mats. They do have brown (ish) stitching around the edge and if I remember correctly you don't get separate carpets as standard with non-L&K spec Yetis (standing by to be corrected on that one). Another added extra included within the L&K price.

Regarding the TV, as has been said - not in the UK. I don't have an issue with the 'one manual fits all' supplied by Skoda as it's been that way with many manufacturers for many years. I still can't accept that brochures and the manufacturer's website is inaccurate, there is no excuse with those failings.

Thanks furb. Are the mats you have just plain ? No branding? And really thin with no additional protection for the heel placement?

Yes they are plain and quite thin, I had the same in the Superb and I was initially really disappointed in them, however 3 ½ years and 35K later they still looked like new.

Yup - what Gizmo said, quite thin, no reinforcement areas but still sort of free.

I have rubber mats over the top, anyway - to protect the carpets for future generations....!

Bear in mind that Skoda employ translators who speak neither Czeck nor English.

That'll be 'Czech' then.... :bandit:

Give the amount of cider I have drunk so far this evening...

Nearly every manufacturer does the same thing, which is why you will always see a little get-out clause in the small print, so this complaint is unjustified.

It might not be a TV but it will play DVDs when stationary.

How can I tell if mine has the hdd? Again it's there but is grayed out. But everything seems to be until you insert the correct media.

The Columbus has a 30Gb hard drive of which 20GB can be used for music. I assume once you have your music loaded onto an SD card or connected via MDI it can be transferred to the HD.

Put your SD card in and when you list the directory on the card  you will see a small box to the right, with 3 lines, when you touch this you get a pop up menu with an option to copy folder. you can also copy individual songs if you wish using same method.

It took approx 1 hr to copy 4.75GB of music from card to HDD, when i did mine 2 weeks ago.
