Anyone had a Octy retrimmed at Seat Sugeons?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm considerering retrimming my FL Elegance estate at Seat Surgeons, with one of their 'quilted' options.

Main reason is that I get pain in my hips on the standard seats, which is much better if I sit on a ikea seat pad (which is only about 8mm think).  It's not a very elegent solution, and looks as if I may have a 'problem' which mean I need to protect my seat!!!

Paul at SS was very helpful, but obvuiously couldn't guarantee how much difference the quititing option would make, other than to say they use 10mm foam which is thicker than the factory fit.

Has anyone done a SS retrim on their Octy who wouldn't mind me coming to sit on your seat for half an hour?  I know it's an odd requrest but I'd like to avoid spending a lot of cash for no improvment.]

Thanks, Nick

(I'm in the midlands btw)

Don't have the car anymore, I'll see if I can fine some photo's for you.

I live near St Neots in Cambridgeshire. Both my Fabia vRS and Octavia II have been retrimmed by Seat Surgeons. I too have had problems getting a comfortable seating position. Leather makes no difference as my seats are non-quilted.

Auric, thanks mate - that would be great!

DGW, thanks, prob not much point me trying those then... Thanks for the offer though.

Apparently the quilting is done with 10mm firm foam whereas the OEM is 4mm. I can't believe a standard fit seat is so badly designed... Never had an issue in any other car. Very tempted to sell and buy another Mondeo, I sure miss the refinement is many areas.

just get some front seats from a golf mk5/6 or audi A3 (3P) as they are a lot more comfortable and better designed.

Skoda is a budget brand so cost savings have to be found and also find that seat comfort of the octavia is inferior compared to that of a VW Golf or Audi A3
